About Larry Harris,
Better Known as ComicVent
I first got my first taste of Ventriloquism when I was 7 years old
and saw Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney in “Stop Look and Laugh” The
hit Three Stooges movie.
I got a little Jerry Mahoney doll for Hanukah when I was 11 years
old and I have it to this day, which brings me to the present.
After seeing Edgar Bergen performing with his characters, Charlie
McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd in the W.C. Field’s movie, “You Can’t
Cheat an Honest Man,” I decided to take up the study of
ventriloquism in 1993 and I have never looked back.
As I began to get more and more into Ventriloquism, I began to
experiment with what type of characters I wanted to work with. I was
interested in the usual “cheeky boy” character. I found myself drawn
to characters that we see in our daily lives.
One of my characters, “Dr. Max Kornbaum, Proctologist/Gynecologist,”
is the grumpy old Jewish man that is fed up with his life and is
ready for a new challenge. Let Dr. Max make a house call at your
next event.
Another one of my characters is “Aunt Estelle.” She knows it all and
isn’t afraid to tell you. She is a senior citizen always on the
prowl for you men. She reminds me of Marie Barone and Estelle
Castanza all wrapped into one with just a pinch of Joan Rivers.
My Cartoons on a stick are ready to entertain you. You won’t be
disappointed.

Testimonial
Larry Harris has been one of Seneca Valley
High School PTSA's After-Prom comedy acts for two years as a
ventriloquist. The students have enjoyed him and all of his
characters. Last year our theme was the 70's and they came dressed
in leisure suits which fit right into the program. His roaming act
attracts the students and volunteers surrounding them with
entertainment. We look forward to the duo again this year.
